At the Waratah Centre, you have the right to:
- learn
- be safe and feel safe at all times
- be treated with respect
- have a say about what happens to them
- have someone of their choosing to assist them when decisions are being made about them
- confidentiality
- have the same opportunities that are available to others
- be in an environment that is appropriately maintained, cleaned, and resourced.
Students at Waratah Centre are required to extend these rights to everyone. Behaviours that impinge on these rights and are unacceptable at the school include:
- inappropriate language including swearing
- ‘put downs' of other people
- disruptive and distracting behaviours eg calling out in class
- not following directions
- moving in an inappropriate manner within the classrooms
- using the equipment or resources in an inappropriate manner eg bouncing a ball inside the classrooms
- any other behaviour that may affect the safety or well-being of others at the Waratah Centre.
- threats and intimidation.
- verbal abuse of staff and students
- physical abuse of staff and students.
